Rachel Charyk is a Canadian artist, born and raised in Ontario.

Many of her earlier years were spent teaching herself to draw, paint and compose. As a child her sketchbook was her best friend following her everywhere from school to family trips. Her passion for art was noticed by those around her and with encouragement and support from her family Rachel enrolled at Unionville Arts high school. Here she spent the next four years developing and fine tuning her skills in drawing and painting. It was at Unionville that Rachel discovered her passion and talent for life drawing.

Rachel continued her artistic pursuits by attending Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto. Here she developed creatively in her content as well as composition. It was at OCAD U she was taught how to paint in oils and introduced to silverpoint from her teacher and mentor Greg Damery.

Rachel continues to develop her skills and explore new themes and challenges. She has recently started plein air painting; the art of painting live outdoors. Rachel is greatly inspired by the natural beauty surrounding her and it presents itself in her work.
